What is Ved?

The word 'ved' means "To know ourself"
Brahmvidya is started from veda
its most ancient sacred book(Dharm Granth).
     Maharshi Vyas divided one Ved in to four pieces i.e. Rhigved, Yajurved, Saamved and Atharvaved.
     Rhigved consist shlokas of nearly 300 Saints; in that time women was also celibate(Brahmachari). their was first preference to nature adoration (Worship).like Surya (Sun), Usha (Dawn), Marut, Agni (Fire), Varun(cloud), Parjanya(Rain), Indra(King of Heaven), Rudra, Ashavini, Chandra(Moon), Swarg(Heaven), and Prithvi(Earth).

     In Rhigved their are shoks of God's praise. their is description of Yadnya/ Yagya.
God becomes happy when we arrange and done Yagya.
      In Yajurved their is description of Yagya kand (How to do Yagya? ).
      In Saamved their are songs of god which describes God's worship and kindness. it is flower of the tree of Ved.-"Vedana Saamvedosmi" is described in Bhagvatgeeta.
      In Atharvaved their is description of Brahmacharya, Ayurveda, Paapnash, Rog nivaran, Adhyatm etc.

     Every vedhas four types as Sanhita, Brahman , Aaranyak and Upnishad; this types are known as Shruti.
Upanishad is last type of ved so it is also called Vedant.
